In June 2012, I set out on to explore Scandinavia: 5 countries, 8 cities, and a countless numbers of boat rides and road trips. I ate strange foods, hiked mountains and glaciers, and met up with friends old and new. You can read more of my trip through the Nordic here.
These days my Canadian passport sees more days abroad than it does in Canada. After my month long trip to China, I am ready to go back to Europe. This time, I will spend 1 month there, making my way through Scandinavia, beginning in Oslo.
The Oslo flight requires a layover in Helsinki. As soon as I landed in the Finnish airport, I knew I would like the nordic. I've always had a thing for outdoorsy places filled with nature, particularly mountains, trees, and the water. So Scandinavia is right up my alley.
In the few hours I had in Helsinki, I grew a strong liking for its sleek and modern airport, despite the hefty prices on all goods. I also discovered these little magnetic rings that can be used to charge portable electronic devices, which seriously pleased the geek in me. So far, my Scandinavia itinerary looks like this:
Day 1 -3 Oslo, Norway
Day 4-6 Somewhere on the Sognefjord, Norway
Day 7-9 Bergen, Norway
Day 10 - 13 Copenhagen, Denmark
Day 14-17 Stockholm, Sweden
Day 18 - 25 Tallin, Estonia
Day 26-28 Helsinki, Finland
Have you ever been to any of the places I'll be visiting? If so, I appreciate any tip that you might have.

ReplyDeleteI love Scandinavia a lot. I travelled around there a couple times before..Copenhagen & Stockholm are my favourites.
As usual I am unbelievably jealous! Norway, though I have never been there, has been a love of mine for most of my life. I'm also ridiculously proud of my half-Norwegian heritage ^-^ I hope (or I know you will) enjoy your Scandinavian adventures! Can't wait to see more! Especially the fjords -- aka photographer's dream land.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley, hopefully you'll get to visit Norway one day too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm hoping for a great trip too!
ReplyDeleteThe wireless charging concept look really cool!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I hope we have something like that in North America soon too, so far the only resellers are in Europe.
