It's been a quiet few weeks on the blog while my life has been nothing but. I spent a week back in my hometown of Vancouver where I found myself spending 2 hours in the kitchen making borsch. More accurately, I took photos while my friend Alex did the actual making of the food. The soup was delicious (recipe here) and it was a refreshing splash of culture (pun intended) in my daily life. I learned two things that day:
1. Preparing and cooking borsch is kind of hard.
2. Taking nice food photographs is even harder.
I'm no Matt Armendariz but here's my go at some casual image-making in the kitchen. =)
