A Day in A Foreign China

7:08 am

The thing about China is, there are many Chinas. Although I spent my early childhood in Beijing, much of the rest of the country is still new to me and each time I arrive at a new Chinese city or province, I feel like I could have crossed the borders and arrived at a different country altogether.

When I flew to Dali, I got lazy on doing my research about this foreign city. Truthfully, I had never even heard of this place before I got there. But luckily, I wasn't traveling alone and my group was picked up at the airport by a Dali local. Our friendly and gracious tour guide drove us around for the day and took us to see some of the most famous cultural sights in this old city. Here is my photo story from my first day in Dali.

Taken in the car while cruising around the city:
Red lanterns at the restaurant while we took a short stop for lunch.
