Photo Prints with Artifact Uprising

Over the summer, I upgraded from a tiny NYC studio to a proper 1-bedroom, or as "proper" as they come in NYC I suppose. I didn't much care for the last place, not only because it was small but also because it came furnished with really unattractive dorm-like furniture. Despite being there for a year, it never felt like home.

When I moved to the new digs, I immediately decided to order some photo prints for the walls to make it feel like a place of my own. When it comes to photo prints, I've tried the whole gamut from highly produced and edited photobooks with Blurb to cheap prints at Costco (which, by the way, is surprisingly good bang for your buck). My favorite printing option at the moment is Artifact Uprising; these guys offers a few different print options including square photos sync'd straight from my Instagram account (where the photos are taken on my phone).

I didn't have high expectations for photos pulled straight from Instagram, thinking that all the uploading and downloading from/to different sources must have compromised the photo quality, but the square print set I ordered came out surprisingly well. The paper stock is thick and feels high quality, and the colors are vibrant. I purposely chose both color and black & white prints as a test, and I'm pleased with both options. While I haven't figured out the ideal way to display these on my wall yet, friends who've visited the apartment have already been noticing the square prints on my desk. Yes!
